In Year 2 our teacher is Miss Saxe and our teaching assistant is Mrs Parker.
There are 30 children in our class and we all make up Panda Class. Our class pets, Goldi, Ellie and Harry survived the summer holidays and are getting used to their large fish bowl once again. However, it is taking us all a bit of time to get to grips with cleaning them out every week! Miss Saxe is grateful for our eager fish monitors who we change on a weekly basis. Who can catch the fish!?
Some of our topics this year include fundamental skills in PE and Miss Saxe is keen to get us dancing too! We will also be learning all about The Great Fire of London, St. Lucia and Mary Seacole.
In RE we have been writing our own prayers and will be including them in our class worship. We are enjoying learning about and discussing our Christian values and how we are all children of God.
We have dived into the Autumn term with a great splash and are excited for a busy and successful year ahead.
Y2 Parent Plan Summer 2019
After half term, Miss Saxe was startled to return to school to find one of the class pet fish, Ellie, dead on the floor! It seemed that the adventurous fish had leapt out during the holiday.
In order to remember her and give her a proper send off, the children in Panda Class wrote prayers for her, collected sticks which they made into crosses and buried her in the playground. The children took turns to read their prayers and said goodbye. RIP Ellie, you will be missed and we pray that God looks after you in heaven.
